Vat Savitri and Vat Purnima: What Is the Difference?

Vat Savitri Puja Vidhi: Step by Step

2. Take sankalp: State your intention, name, location and the vrat you are observing.
3. Begin the puja: Invoke Ganesha and offer water, roli, akshat, flowers, diya and incense according to your family tradition.
4. Worship the Vat tree: Offer water at the roots and apply roli or kumkum respectfully. Avoid nails, staples or anything that can damage the tree.
5. Tie the mauli: Walk around the tree while gently winding the thread. The number of parikramas varies by regional and family custom.
