Hiranyakashipu's boon covered every condition: not killed by man or animal, inside or outside, by day or night, with a weapon or without. Vishnu's answer: Narasimha (half-man, half-lion), at twilight, on the threshold of a doorway, using claws. Every condition fulfilled — and broken simultaneously.

Neither man nor animal, neither inside nor outside, neither day nor night – every condition of Hiranyakashipu’s boon was outsmarted.
